Following this he embarked on a sell-out world tour and scooped the coveted Best International Show at the New Zealand International Comedy Festival.
In 2008 he returned to the Fringe with ‘Joy’, earning MORE five star reviews and selling out the run to the point that extra shows had to be added to cope with the demand.
Another world tour of ‘Joy’ sold out the New Zealand Comedy Festival. Jason was also invited to the Adelaide Fringe Festival where he hosted the entire season of the prestigious Best of The Edinburgh Fest showcase for the month.
2009 saw him return to the Fringe with ‘Fear’, another show based on the trials and tribulations of his own life, the 5 star reviews rolled in once more along with the award for Best Show at the Manchester Comedy Festival LOL! And once again, he was off around the world with further invites to the most prestigious comedy festivals on the planet.
In 2010 Jason followed up ‘Fear’ with ‘The End – Part 1’ to yet more critical acclaim and finished writing his own sitcom for BBC 2, ‘Hebburn’ based on his life in in the town. The first six-part series is now broadcasting in a prime-time slot on BBC2 in which Jason also plays the role of Ramsey.
In addition to his own TV success Jason has also appeared on; ‘Spick and Specks with Adam Hills’ for ABC, Paramount Comedy’s ‘The World Stands Up ‘, Sky 3’s ‘50 Ways to Leave Your TV Lover’, ‘One Night Stand’ for Dave, ‘Live From The Comedy Store for Comedy Central and ‘Russell Howard’s Good News’ on BBC Three. As well as completing his own radio project for BBC Radio 4, ‘Jason Cook’s Happiness HQ’.
